Rope Rescue

Rocky SAR conducts rope rescue under their Mountain Rescue Team ranging from the basic to more complex rope systems. Training is tailored to the unique environment we work in and follow the latest recommendations from professionals such as "Dual Capability Two Tensioned Rope Systems (DCTTRS) – by Kirk Mauthner”. Members are capable of performing low angle, high angle rescues and even train for more complex systems involving guiding and high-lines. Accreditation on these techniques is verified every 5 years through the Mountain Rescue Association (MRA) which provides linkages to broader networks including the International Commission for Alpine Rescue (ICAR).
