2020 Roadside Cleanup Campaign scheduled for May 9, 2020 is CANCELLED

Please be advised that in accordance with direction received from public health authorities in Alberta on COVID-19, Clearwater County has decided to cancel the roadside cleanup scheduled for May 9, 2020. Although we realize this news may come as a disappointment to our community groups we feel this action is warranted in order to limit the spread of the virus and, ultimately, to keep our community, staff, and visitors healthy and safe. Community organizations who have applied for routes in previous years will be contacted directly.

Clearwater County sponsors a Roadside Cleanup Campaign every year in May. Benefits of the campaign include:
  • Contributes to a cleaner environment
  • Teaches participants to appreciate their environment
  • Gives participants a sense of accomplishment
  • Promotes awareness for your club or group
  • Raises funds for group or club activities
This program is for community groups, with priority given to youth groups, and involves cleaning a section of roadside in Clearwater County. Each community group received $600.00 per section cleaned – there will be approximately 41 road sections available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Supplies pickup and contract signing will take place a couple days prior.
