Clearwater County demonstrates its dedication to supporting local communities by providing voluntary services and funding for all 16 active community cemeteries within the County. Additionally, the County takes charge of the management and operation of the Nordegg Cemetery.

In 2023, Clearwater County engaged contracted services to aid in the development of a Cemetery Master Plan and Cemetery Bylaw(s) to ensure compliance with legislative requirements. This project involved tasks such as re-surveying, pin laying, and the realignment of existing headstones at the Nordegg cemetery.

As the Nordegg cemetery approaches its capacity, Clearwater County is currently in the process of planning for a new cemetery to serve the Hamlet of Nordegg and its surrounding areas. Initial consultations and analyses have been completed, leading to the evaluation of potential sites and the finalization of concept plans. It is anticipated that the project will be tender-ready by 2025, marking a significant milestone in meeting the needs of the community.
