Public Hearings


Public hearings are an opportunity for people who are affected by projects or proposals to address Clearwater County Council during regular Council meetings. Public hearing are required by the Municipal Government Act (MGA) as part of the adoption or amendment process for statutory plans, the Clearwater County's Land Use Bylaw, or as necessary.

Development Permit Approvals


The following development permits have been approved or conditionally approved under the provisions of Clearwater County's Land Use Bylaw.

Anyone claiming to be affected by such decision may appeal the decision by serving written notice of appeal within twenty-one (21) days of the date of the decision.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Development Officer or the Municipal Planning Commission of Clearwater County has approved the issuing of development permits for the following Permitted uses:

Development Permit 29/25 Ward 1 Lyndon Copithorne on behalf of 1675133 AB Ltd. for the construction of a detached dwelling with an attached garage, with a variance to the maximum height allowance on Plan 062 6999, Block 1, Lot 16 (Pt. NW 30-38-07-W5M). Date of Decision: March 11, 2025

Development Permit 30/25 Ward 7 Kathy Coyne for the construction of a residential shop on SW 10-43-06-W5M. Date of Decision: March 12, 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that the Development Officer or the Municipal Planning Commission of Clearwater County has approved the issuing of development permits for the following Discretionary uses:

Development permit 20/25 Ward 4 Ryan and Mallory Tollenaar for the placement of a greenhouse on Plan 232 2739, Block 1, Lot 1 (Pt. NW 11-36-07-W5M). Date of Decision: March 11, 2025

Notice of appeal, accompanied by a $400.00 appeal fee, should be addressed to the Clerk, Subdivision & Development Appeal Board, Clearwater County. For more information on a specific application, or the decision, contact Clearwater County Development Authority

Development Permit 24/25 Ward 4 Scott and Leslie Deditch for the construction of a residential shop on Plan 952 0587, Unit 10 (Pt. NW 20-36-06-W5M). Date of Decision: March 4, 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that the Development Officer or the Municipal Planning Commission of Clearwater County has approved the issuing of development permits for the following Permitted uses:

Development Permit 21/25 Ward 7 Donald and Margaret Shaw for the placement of a modular home as a second residence on a lot that is 32 hectares (80 acres) or larger on SW 06-43-06-W5M. Date of Decision: February 25, 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that the Development Officer or the Municipal Planning Commission of Clearwater County has approved the issuing of development permits for the following Discretionary uses:

Development Permit 23/25 Ward 3 Brandon Praud for the construction of a residential shop on Plan 022 7891, Block 1, Lot 2 (Pt. NW 07-39-05-W5M). Date of Decision: February 25, 2025
