Municipal Planning Commission

The Municipal Planning Commission (MPC) is a Council committee established by Bylaw 997 (current Bylaw is 998-14) and acknowledged within the Municipal Government Act (MGA). The MPC is a Development and Subdivision Authority for land use development and subdivisions and is a referral agency for redesignating land use.

Meetings are tentatively scheduled on the third Wednesday of every month. 

A member of the Commission shall not include: 

  • a development officer;
  • a member of the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board;
  • an employee of the County.

Public Member Appointments 

Each year, Council holds an Organizational meeting in October to designate their memberships on boards as well as to elect members-at-large to represent the community on select boards. Last year the Organizational meeting took place on Monday October 25, 2022.

At the February 28, 2023 Regular Council meeting, Council directed Administration to advertise the Municipal Planning Commission (MPC) meeting agendas on Clearwater County’s website.
