UBF Grants for Fibre to the Home (FTTH) and Fibre to the X (FTTX)
Thanks to the Broadband Committee's efforts, Clearwater County secured substantial grants from Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Canada and the Government of Alberta, covering up to 75% of the costs. The grants will aid in establishing a modern fibre network connecting homes and businesses to the County's Core Backbone, funded through the Universal Broadband Fund, with added assistance from the Alberta provincial government. This initiative aims to enhance connectivity by providing reliable, high-speed internet to rural and underserved areas in the county.
Clearwater County will be engaging with residents through multiple initiatives to communicate project development updates. This will include Open Houses starting in spring 2025 (dates TBD) as well as virtual events for registered participants. Visit the project website to learn more: CWCBB Marketplace - About .
