Stronger Together - County, Town and Village sign collaboration agreement
Clearwater County, The Town of Rocky Mountain House and The Village of Caroline have a long history of inter-municipal collaboration. On September 13, 2013 they refreshed their commitment to cooperation by signing an agreement, titled Stronger Together.
The Stronger Together agreement was developed by all three Councils and is an inter-municipal collaboration initiative intended to create opportunities for new partnerships for the provision of municipal programs and services, to enhance existing partnerships and to resolve matters of mutual interest.
"We govern towards the benefits of all citizens of the Village, County, and the Town. We are a proud, hard working community that enjoys a desirable quality of life. This agreement will make us all stronger together,” said Fred Nash, Mayor, Town of Rocky Mountain House.
"After what has been a lengthy process, we formalize this longstanding relationship into new avenues to provide measurable outcomes in infrastructure and cost reduction for our ratepayers,” said Mayor Laura Cudmore, Village of Caroline.
"Our municipalities have always had a strong relationship and the Stronger Together agreement process has formalized and strengthened our relationships so that we can all work together at a higher level," said former Reeve Pat Alexander, Clearwater County.
Stronger Together was funded by a collaborative governance initiative grant from the Province, which was intended for municipalities to map out a framework for collaboration.
